why can't i put music on my instagram story

Have you ever found yourself trying to figure out the one-pane Instagram interface? Does it seem like the goal posts will never be reached, and your account will always remain stale? Don't worry: there's help at hand with music on Instagram stories. This simple feature won't put your account on a different level, but it is something fun and new that your followers might enjoy. As you can expect, there are a few rules that apply to this new extension, but it's nothing complicated. You must have an Instagram account in order to see the option, and music has to be from your own library. The genres are fairly broad in the sense that you can choose from audio clips of all different moods. You can also choose where the clip will play for those who don't have access to a smartphone or tablet. Here's a simple guide on how to put music on Instagram stories. • Open the Instagram app, and tap the camera icon from the bottom menu. This will target your main account, which will also be in focus since you are opening it up from here. • Take your picture or choose one from your gallery. When you have finished, tap the sticker icon with a musical note in it, which can be found in the top right of your screen. This will show a selector of genres, which is where you should tap next. • This will bring up a list of genres with names like Classical, Electronic, Folk, Hip-Hop and Rock. You can sort these categories by release date or alphabetically depending on what you prefer. Tap the one that you want and then add the sticker to your post. This feature is almost identical to adding an Instagram sticker in general, but without the text box at the bottom of your screen.
