Pickleball is a fast-paced sport developed in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, Washington. It was named after the game’s original sponsor, the Pickles family; they owned a grocery store that was located near the courts where pickleball was invented. Today, pickleball is played all around the world! Pickleball is generally easier for people to learn than tennis and has helped to increase participation levels among older populations who want a faster-paced game that’s less physically demanding.
